JDBorges187,Hi and the best suggestion I can give you is follow my tutorials to the letter and take everything very very slowly the first time.Do not pull or push or bend, just nudge it and nudge it alittle more but nothing violent, and heat the outer ribbon up good but not so much that you melt everything. After the first you will be able to do it much easier and also, no pushing hard on the springs,it will go in and out of the oem and AM easy, if you folloew my tutorials, good luck, and if you get stuch just post here and I will try to help!

Yo Pumbaa I'm trying to follow your tutorial right now. I'm stuck at the spring once again. The phone is still in the oem casing but I can't get it to budge, and I don't want to break the spring either. Ane help is appreciated.

If you can't do it with all the written instructions you will not be able to do it even if I made a 2 hour movie of installation and removal of the spring!

Try twisting pulling and moving the flip back towards you a notch all at the same time.

Grind then down a tad,so the spring will fit nice, but don't grind them to much or the spring will never close right!

Hey guys I am a little lost here. I picked up my replacement i860. I finally decided to tackle putting on a full housing. Well I did it. Funny thing is, this time the spring pretty much slid out with no probs what so ever. The problem I am having now is that when I put it back in, it will not flip open. Whats the trick to this? Do I need to put the button on the spring to make it work correctly? Do I need to put the spring in a certain way? Now when I open my phone it only goes to about 90 degrees by hand. If I close it and push the button, nothing happens. Please help.

Stop me anyone if you think different..... It sounds to me that the spring is broke because when I changed mine I just had to make sure that the notches on the spring were aligned with the notches on the knuckle. If you don’t have this right and you start closing and opening you phone you really risk breaking the spring. But I am no means a pro and I could be wrong. So try and look around and see what some people that know more about it have to say.

how should i put the spring back in? I have the phone open. I tried sliding the spring in the hinge. NP. Do I need to put the little cap on the spring before i close the phone? Or do I do that after I close the phone?

Don't worry about the cap untill you see the spring is working, just take the needle nose and push in on the spring when the flip is closed and if it opens like OEM then you can keep the flip open and put the cap button on.

No do not tighten it,go to the other side of the flip knuckle where you put in the T4 screw, the knuckle the covers the ribbon and lossen the T4 screw alittle bit and if that does not do the trick, then take the flip knuckle cap out that covers the ribbon, and grind the knuckle cap around the outside of it where it goes into the flip, it will make the ribbon and flip open faster.
