COMPLETE WEBJAL INSTALLATION TUTORIAL

Webjal is the software used to download ringtones, wallpapers, applications, and games to your phone from your PC. This tutorial will walk you through the process of setting up your own server so that you will no longer be dependent on other servers that you have no control over.

Follow this guide and you will have Webjal running with no problems

STEP 1
Getting ready
First things first
You should uninstall previous versions of webjal

You MUST have winzip installed for this to work properly
Get it here

You Also need VB 6 Runtimes installed

if you need usb drivers

MAKE SURE TO INSTALL EVERYTHING TO DEFAULT LOCATIONS ON THE C:/ DRIVE

STEP 2
Installing Apache
Now install Apache found here

STEP 3
Installing PHP
Now download and install PHP found here

STEP 4
Installing Webjal
Download and install Webjal here (after installing uncheck the “run now” box; do not run webjal yet)

STEP 5
Patching Webjal
Download the Vinneycuz file here

extract everything to a folder on your desktop
remember that you MUST USE WINZIP!!!

Run the file VINNYCUZ's WebJAL Patcher 1.0.exe
Enter this info
Username: vinnycuzrocka
Key: 00000G-XC054G-P933ZN-ARJQCF-HBJNNN-03RJ3J-319R04-XVVU1H-MZ9G99

Once you have the program running click the PATCH button when it is done hit EXIT
To remove the patch at any time click the REMOVE button.

NOTE: if using an unregistered version of winzip (which most of you probably are) while patching, two prompts will pop up. They may stay minimized in your taskbar but they will show up while patching. Make sure that you click the “Use Evaluation Version” button on both prompts or you will get stuck at the next step.

Windows 98/ME Users:
If when running the patcher you get a File Not Found Error then you need to look in your C:\Windows directory and look for the HOSTS file, it is named HOSTS.sam you need to rename it to read HOSTS only without the .sam extension.

STEP 6
Installing Security Certificate
Now go to C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache\conf\ssl
(if you don’t see this folder it’s because you did not follow the last step correctly)
Double click the idenupdate.motorola.com security certificate






STEP 7
Running Webjal
Now start apache


Now start webjal
Leave username and password blank
